Obituary of Janet Rae Kingery

Janet Rae Kingery, the daughter of Willie and Velma (Ford) McEwen, was born May 8, 1939, in Milan, Missouri. On April 3, 1958, Janet was united in marriage with Carroll Eugene Kingery in Monroe, Iowa. Janet dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was very crafty and enjoyed creating ceramics of all types and traveling to area craft shows to sell them. In her earlier years, she enjoyed being a part of the local bowling association.

Janet died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Accura of Newton East. She was 81 years old. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll, on January 20, 2015; and her brother, William McEwen.

Those left to honor Janet's memory include her sons, Larry (Cynthia) Kingery Fojtik and Dustin (Samantha) Kingery; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Becca, Augie, and Titus; and her sister, Kim Hunter.

Due to COVID restrictions the family will have a private graveside service. A Facebook Broadcast of the service will be on the Pence Reese Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page beginning at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2020. The family will be planning a public Celebration of Life at a later date.

Cards of remembrance can be sent to the family at 1229 S 9th Ave E, Newton Iowa 50208

Memorials may be designated to Hospice of the Midwest and may be left at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
