We would like to leave our condolences to Donna and all the Worthington family. We have many fond memories of our time with Max and Donna and the kids. One time we remember was when we were traveling back from Charles and Shirley’s in Colorado in the early 60s. We stopped at North Platte for the night at a motel with a swimming pool and a slide. Max was inventing creative ways to go down the slide into the pool, such as headfirst, upside down and headfirst, and squatting on his haunches. I think he was about ready to try to go down the slide standing up when the manager threatened to kick him out of the pool if he went down the slide anyway but sitting down! Max was fun to be around and we enjoyed our times together. We will miss him.
With our sympathy,
Bruce Crane and Maxine Crane

Max was one of the champions of our agency and staff. Max served on our Board of Directors for Aging Resources for many years. Max always contributed to the discussion and was active on several committees of the Board. You could always count on Max to advocate on behalf of our older adult population, especially in Jasper County.
We enjoyed his great sense of humor and his dedication to the community. When there was an early committee meeting, we always made sure a full breakfast was served, which Max enjoyed joking with us about.
His counsel was wise, his generosity without limits. We will miss Max and his welcoming smile immensely!
Our sincere condolences to his family,
Joel Olah and the staff of Aging Resources of Central Iowa
