Obituary of Joanna Lee Francis

Joanna Lee Francis, 67, was the daughter of Jack Patrick and Barbara Jean (Campbell) Price. She was born April 23, 1953, in Newton, and graduated from Newton Senior High School, Class of 1971.

On November 15, 1984, "Jo" was united in marriage with Denver E. Francis in Newton. She was a longtime employee-manager for Get N Go Convenience Store. She had a gentle and kind heart. Jo loved and enjoyed crafts, making and buying jewelry and cooking.

Jo passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2020, at her home. The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Newton. In lieu of all flowers memorials may be designated to Joanna's family or to a charity of your choosing.

Jo is survived by her husband Denver; her sons: Michael (Danielle) Druyff and Dennis (Kathryn) Francis; grandchildren: Kenny and Derek Landgrebe, and Kirsten Francis; her brother and sisters: Doug (Joanne) Price, Mary J. Holmes, Missy M. Price (Scott Stepp) and Tricia A. (Dan) Jenkins; many nieces and nephews, including Kelsey J. (Shane) Foster; and many good neighbors and friends. Jo was preceded in death by her parents.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will be having a Graveside services Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Sacred Heart, with the extended family and public staying with their cars.
