Geraldine A. “Geri” Priaulx
Geri went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Newton Village Health Care.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the First Christian Church in Newton, with a visitation an hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, memorials may be designated to the First Christian Church or to Geri’s’ family. The Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Geraldine A. “Geri” Priaulx, 91, was born April 24, 1928, in Lovilia, IA, the daughter of Ralph and Wilma (Walker) Davis. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School, Class of 1946.
On October 1, 1948, Geri was united in marriage to Russell M. Priaulx, at the Methodist Church in Newton. Geri devoted her life to her family and was an active member of the First Christian Church in many varied capacities. Over the years she was employed at the Newton Library and in food service at Berg Middle School. She enjoyed quilting, and very active with A.M.N.I. and at one time singing with the Newton Harmonettes.
Geri is survived by her daughters: Jane (James) Brand of Newton, Vivian (Dan) Ahnemann of Clear Lake and Mary Priaulx of Newton; her four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and many good neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russ on August 6, 2017; a great-grandson Logan Higginbotham; her sister Donna Newell; and a brother-in-law Dwight Priaulx.
