Obituary of Kenton Kirk

Kenton Willis “Willie” Kirk, Sr., the son of Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” and Donna Francis (Cavitt) Kirk, was born June 16, 1963 in Newton, Iowa.  He graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1982.  He went on to receive his U.A.W. Journeyman Certificate and was a Master Welder.  He worked for the Lenox Company in Marshalltown for over twenty years.  Willie was one who lived to the beat of his own drum.  He was passionate about things that were important to him.  He loved to coach his kids in their various activities when they were young.  He enjoyed swimming and all things outdoors.  He was an avid racing fan and a NASCAR and Kansas City Chief fanatic.  He loved animals and was always willing to take in a new cat.  Willie was also an excellent cook and auto mechanic.

Willie died on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was 56 years old.  Willie was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor Willie’s memory include his daughter, Allie (Jack) Andrews; his sons, Nick Kirk, Kenton Kirk, Jr. and Brandon Daniel and Kenton and Brandon’s mother, Chantell Worner; his siblings, Keven (Renee) Kirk, Karla (Paul) McIlrath and Kenneth William Kirk; his nieces and nephews, Leah McIlrath, Philip McIlrath, Kyle Kirk and Vanessa Kirk; his girlfriend, Joleen Inman; and Kelly Kirk, who had a special place in Willie’s life.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton.  The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
