Raymond E. Sutton
Raymond passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2018, at the Iowa Veteran's Medical Center in Des Moines.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who are entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section, Newton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Raymond's Family.
Raymond Eugene Sutton, 83, the son of Edward L. and Cleo D. (Logue) Sutton, was born September 13, 1935, near Newton. He had served his country during the Korean Conflict, with the US Army.
Ray was employed by the Jasper County Road Maintenance Department as a Grader operator. He was a member of the Newton V.F.W. Post #1655 and American Legion Post #374 at 42nd and Easton in Des Moines. He enjoyed the Newton Moose Lodge, tinkering around the house, loved all animals and singing (Karaoke).
Ray is survived by his daughter Jacqueline Suzanne Livengood; a son James Allen Sutton, Sr.; his eleven grandchildren, numerus great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his sister Linda Brinstead; and many good neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Raymond E. Sutton, Jr.; a daughter Pamela Rackard; and two brothers: Donald Keith Sutton and Kenneth Sutton.
