I had known Jerry for over 20 years in the APA Assembly. He was a good friend and mentor. He was always sincere, of good humor and spoke from his big heart. He also sang with great gusto, and was the anchor of the "Disassembled 5" acappella singing group. We also traded gaudy civilwar ties - we laughed that it took portly men to make these ties look good. Jerry will be sorely missed by his colleagues, patients and friends. My prayers go out to the family. This is a great loss.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Lewis in my capacity as the staff liaison from the American Psychiatric Association to the Area IV Council. Dr. Lewis was dedicated to improving the quality of life of his patients and was a passionate advocate for the profession and his local colleagues. He was thoughtful, calm, and deeply decent. He will be missed.

Dr. Lewis was an exceptional person and physician! He helped me through so much and if it weren't for him I would not be here today. He always had a smile and a kind word to give! I know he is happy in Heaven and still watching over us all as he did here on Earth.

Jerry will be greatly missed, his laughter, compassion, quiet strength, and laughter still brings a smile to my lips. I remember gaming Jerry and at times Theron would join in as well.. His quiet assurance and confidence helped me to grow in my profession. I guess heaven needed another voice for the choir. Sing away.
