Ray has such a beautiful Spirit that was trapped in this earthly tent the last few years. Imagine the overwhelming joy of being set free to dance before His Lord Jesus. Makes a person "homesick". Thank you, Ray, for always leading us to the throne of grace.

Ray was an awesome Bible teacher and a man of God. Rays love for the Lord was evident and poured out while he taught others about Jesus. Thank you Ray for your faithfulness and all that you have given to the Lord Jesus while you were here on the earth. I can picture the angels rejoicing as you lay your crowns at our Saviors feet. Sharonn, Holly, Guy, Hannah and Lizzie: May you all be comforted by warm memories as you gather together to celebrate Ray's life.
The people we love, work with, live next to and encounter in our everyday activities, are threads. Those threads, woven together, create the tapestry of our lives. Your husband, dad and grandpa is a golden thread in each of your lives just as each of you were a golden thread in his life. He will continue to live on as you pass the blessing of his golden thread to others in this tapestry of life.
We pray that today and everyday, each of you will able to feel his presence smiling down upon you from heaven above. May his angel wings softly and gently tickle your hearts and faces with warm smiles and memories.
“Just knowing you’re up there, said the mountain to the sky, “helps me remember I’ll never be alone. – David Samuels
You're in our thoughts and prayers during this time of one set of footprints in the sand.

We remember Ray and you too first from when you would teach the adult SS classes. It was very obvious Ray had a very deep faith and studied the Bible thoroughly. He always had a practical side to the lessons as well. He was so always so willing to share his faith. I remember too how you lovingly invited us to your home for a wonderful home cooked meal. His love for the Lord and the life he lived as well as the impact he made on others will long be remembered. Remembering you in this transition time Sharonn. Jim and Cathy Tyson

His face always lite up when we walked in as he knew we would have a wonderful visit with the Lord and he would teach me to take another step deeper in my faith walk. I look forward to more talks, without the interruption of life as we know it now.
Much Love Sharonn. You are in our prayers.

I'm thankful for the small amount of time I had to know Ray. I never visited with him but that I didn't feel in the presence of our Lord and Savior. His desire for everyone to know of the depth of the love Jesus has for us, and the power we have within us because of His Holy Spirit left to dwell within us, that is the message I shall ever cling to that was part of Rays legacy. It mattered so much to him that folks understood not only the Father, Son, but the Holy Spirit! He was a wealth of information! I held him in high regard and with the utmost respect. I know he will be a servant in heaven as well as he was here on earth. And a faithful and loving one at that. We love you Sharonn and pray for you and your children as each day comes. Love and Prayers, Duane and Lisa Blommers

Sharon, I'm sorry for your loss. I'll never forget the bible studies at your West Sacramento house for a bunch of confused souls. Thanks to you and to Ray. If this is all anyone got from those classes it's enough. "I have been crucified with Christ and it so no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me. The life that I now live I live through faith in the son of God who loves me and gave Himself for me."

What a wonderful picture of a wonderful man. There was never a doubt that Ray loved the Lord! I can still picture you two walking into the sanctuary and sitting in a pew at Arcade; it always brought a smile to my face. I remember sitting around your W. Sacramento table, just eating, singing, and talking about Jesus. And, like others have said, I bet Ray is singing with the choir in heaven and making a joyful noise for his Lord. My love to you, Sharonn, as God wraps you in His tender arms!

Grandpa was such a wonderful teacher and friend to me and my sister. He was the greatest grandpa, and its plain as day how much compassion he had in his big heart.
He not only taught me how to do Donald Duck imitations that Hannah and I were all too fond of, or how to use our hands as little guns, but he taught me and everyone he knew about the Lord.
I love you, Grandpa Bud. I know you're lovin' it up with Jesus in Heaven.

Ray was such a special friend to my husband and I along with Sharonn. We had many wonderful conversations together along with some great dinners! I especially enjoyed the times we would go and my husband would be working on a tv or something and Ray and I would just be able to share about the Holy Spirit. Ray loved his wife so much. His adoration was evident in his words and actions. He loved the Lord with all His heart and taught me so much. I will miss him greatly and never forget him. I can't wait to meet up with him again in heaven. I know he is having some great conversations with God! You will be missed my dear friend. Thank you for loving me and teaching me.

Heaven is filling up with the addition of another wonderful saint, and here we wait for our day of perfection in Christ, that we may join the enormous worship service.
What diligence Ray applied to the studying and sharing of the Word of God; surely he has a well bejeweled crown to cast at Jesus' feet.
Sharonn, I can only guess at the largeness of this void in your life; and it makes me think that God will have all that much more to pour into that void to comfort and sustain you.
Holly & family, may you also know that amazing supply as you weep and laugh and reminisce and look ahead. Indeed, great is His faithfulness. Our love, the Merriams

Twenty four years ago I found Jesus as my Jewish Messiah and joined New Hope Christian Fellowship in Sacramento. I soon began attending Ray and Sharon's fellowship. It wasn't until many years later that I discovered just how unique that fellowship was. Ray and Sharon were incredibly anointed. Until recently I had a job which allowed me (I purposely chose that route) to pass by the site of their old house so I could remember those fellowship evenings. Althoug the house is long gone, the memories aren't. Ii also get to remember them many mornings when my wife reads the Oswald Chambers book they gave me. Yours and Ray's work lives on!

Heaven's gain.....our loss.
Family and friends alike feel the pain of the loss of one of God's deepest sheep, called home by our Great Shepherd.
We recall the fellowship, praise and worship, home Bible studies, delicious meals, trips to Carmel, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and many other fond memories from knowing Ray and Sharonn over many years. We have seen consistent hospitality, generosity, and unwavering commitment to our Lord and the Scriptures modeled in their lives.
Ray loved to worship our Lord, and his faithful teaching about living the Christian life based on our union with Christ, in the power of the Spirit through continual brokenness, surrender, and obedience to Scripture marked him as one of the few who understood and taught those truths today.
Ray, we all miss you, but are comforted knowing you are resting from your labor, and your deeds follow you, (Rev. 14:13). Your investment in all of us lives on.
Sharonn, you have always been an essential, steadfast part of the team, a compliment to Ray and a faithful co-laborer with him. We cannot imagine your pain and sense of loss. May our Lord be to you and your family the Father of compassion, and the God of all comfort, (II Cor. 1:3).
Sharonn, we grieve with you and yours.
Love, Jerry & Karen Snow

Ray lingers in my memory as a cheerful man with a good sense of humor. He made each person feel they were important to him. He was a good caring man who usually had a smile for just about everyone. Those things with his natural leadership abilities made him a person people couldn't help liking. God bless Ray, I believe God has a job for him yet and I believe Ray is happy with whatever he is asked to do in heaven as he was happy with what he was asked to do in life.

I have so many memories. They span over 30 years. Ray and Sharonn were spiritual parents in many ways. We were neighbors and we were in Ray's Sunday School class in Council Bluffs, IA. Ray and Sharonn loved us and mirrored Christ as Life. Ray would wrap his arms around me and hug me. He didn't know how desperately I needed Jesus with skin on. Ray was that for me. Ray and Sharonn taught us what a Christian marriage was all about. Sharonn would look at Ray-eyes fixed on him and smiling from ear to ear. I saw their love for one another stand the test of time. The Lord changed our marriage and lives because of their investment in us. Ray and Sharonn prayed with us for children at a time when we struggled with infertility. We have 3 adult children!
Ray knew Christ as Life. He hottly pursued the Lord and abided in Him and His Word. His ministry to so many of us was an outpouring from his own intimate love relationship with the Lord. I love you Ramon Buckman! I miss you. I thank the Lord for you and your sweet Sharonn for loving us with agage love. Lord, I'm trusting you to be Who You say You are for Sharonn at this time. You are her comfort and husband now and her provider, her Rock and a Shelter in the time of storm, loss and need. Flood her heart with peace and surround her with your love.
In Jesus name, Amen (so be it)

The Lord brought Ray and Sharonn into our lives some 35 years ago. We were in his Sunday School class and he kept meddling in my life....how I was to conduct myself on the job, how to love my wife.......all good and changed my life. Still living the impact of those days. Then Ray and Sharonn prayed us into our first home when the money really wasn't there but God made it work. Such a privaledge to be across-the-street neighbors to Ray and Sharonn. Every day some delight, even in the problems that came our way. Lots of chats on what the Lord and His word really means and how our lives can reflect the indwelling Jesus. Then our children arrived and what fun to watch Ray respond to the kids......not sure who learned more, Ray or the kids. Sad to see my old bud, Ray, go on to glory but we'll have more chats later on again soon.....we are right behind you, Ray, on the same road. Soon, my friend.
