When I was in high school in Eldora, I worked for Bud at the United Grocery Store as a carry out boy. We went through a transition from United Grocery to Hy-Vee where I worked as produce manager under Bud, who was store manager . As I look back, I realize how much of an influence Bud was in my life. He mentored me to be a business man and to be considerate and helpful to every customer that entered the store. Bud was nearly father like in his attitude to help me become a productive business man. I gleaned so much from Bud from his daily attitude to his professionalism toward the public. I will always remember him with great respect. We have been blessed having Bud in our lives. My deepest sympathy to the family.
