Obituary of Emma Lucile Andersen

Emma Lucile, the daughter of James and MayBelle Shaw Marshall was born December 26, 1918 in rural Monroe, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Svend E. Andersen on September 28, 1946 in Parkersburg, Iowa.  They lived in several locations in central Iowa, but most of her life was in Newton, Iowa.  She was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family.  She also enjoyed gambling, gardening, cooking and reading.

Emma Lucile died on Friday, January 19, 2018, rural Kellogg, Iowa.  She was 99 years old.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Svend on December 22, 1997, an infant son, a grandson Gaige, three brothers and one sister.

Emma Lucile is survived by her children and their spouses: Harold Paul (Marilyn) Andersen of Story City, Iowa, Linda Louise Andersen (Alan Billyard) of Prole, Iowa, Lawrence James (Nancy) Andersen of Kellogg, Iowa, Candace Rose (Ron) McDermott of Newton, Iowa, six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, sisters, Violet Schrader of Monroe, Iowa, Rosamond Thompson of California and sister-in-law Gwen Marshall of Kentucky.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton., Memorials, in her name, may be designated to VFW Post 1655 in Newton.
