Obituary of Irene Elizabeth Paschka

Irene Elizabeth Paschka passed from this life on Saturday evening, January 7, 2017, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West. Irene Elizabeth, 89, was born March 27, 1927, in Britt, Iowa, the daughter of James J. and Mayme Rezabek. Graduating from high school, she later received her degree from LaJames Beauty College in Mason City. She was employed as a Beautician for 60 plus years, working in Kensett, IA and then Newton with Mary Beard and Virginia Williams, retiring from Carson’s Beauty Salon in 2008. A longtime resident of the Newton area, Irene Elizabeth was united in marriage with William Paschka in 1950. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed her family, sewing, baking, gardening and flowers, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. She is survived by her son Jeff (Cindy) Paschka of Newton; her daughters: Theresa (Bob) Beckham of Baxter, Suzanne Paschka (Chad Halter) of Newton and Mary Ann Wyatt of Rancho Cordova, CA; her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother Jim (Ann) Rezabek of Osage; and her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William; two brothers; Bill Rezabek and Bernard Rezabek; and a sister Marie (Jack) Radabough. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. at the church before the funeral mass. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family in Irene Elizabeth name or Catholic Charity.
