Bob Kleinendorst, the son of Neal and Elizabeth (Van Hemmert) Kleinendorst, was born November 2, 1925, in Newton, Iowa
Bob served his country in the United States Navy. On June 21, 1945, Bob married Joy Willardson. To this union one child was born, Larry Lee Kleinendorst. On June 16, 1950, Bob married Hazel Malson. To this union two children, Deborah and Perry, were born. On September 3, 1966, Bob was united in marriage with Dorothy Schultz.
Bob worked at Warburton, driving trucks until 1950. He then worked at Dealer's Warehouse (Dennison and Partridge) in the Lumber Yard then went to Dealer's Warehouse as a salesman where he received an award for top salesman. He retired in 1987. Bob was a big Hawkeye fan. He loved spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids and going to their ballgames.
Bob died on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. He was 90 years old. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Cornie (Mary), John and Lester (Lela); his nine sisters, Elsie (LR) Weldon, Josephine (Albert) Sparks, Wilma (DeVerne) Creed, Leona (Ben) Klouda, Bernice (Frank) York, Lorena Kleinendorst, Vera (Max) Calhoon, Lavonne (Gene) Talbot, Beverly (Marion) Osborn; one son, Larry; and one great granddaughter.
Those left to honor Bob's memory include his wife, Dorothy, of Newton; his daughter, Deborah (Roger) Farver of Monroe, IA; his son, Perry Kleinendorst of Rock Creek, IA; his grandchildren, Jeff (Shelly) Heyveld, Lori (Kyle) Padget, Travis (Randi) Kleinendorst, Tonya Vos, Corissa Kleinendorst, Joseph Kleinendorst; his step grandchildren, Wade Farver, Todd (Fawn) Farver, Amy (David) Henninger; his great grandchildren, Skylar and Leandra Heyveld, Garin, Zebulyn and Kailyn Padget, Jett Kleinendorst, Michael Pitts, Dakota and Colton Ortiz; his step great grandchildren, Evie and Nick Farver, Logan Mason, Josie and Cassie Brooks, Jacob and Grace Henninger; his two brothers-in-law, Gene Talbot of Olathe, KS and Marion Osborn of Cedar Falls, IA; his 25 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 10th at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the St. Andrews Lutheran Church or to Mercy Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
