Obituary of William John Reischl

Funeral services for William Reischl, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who has been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 a.m. Monday, until service time, at the funeral home.

William John "Bill" Reischl, 83, the son of John and Marie (Meierle) Reischl, was born April 24, 1927 in Casey, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Menlo, Iowa High School, Class of 1947.
In November 1951, Bill was united in marriage with Charlene Elaine Stodden, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. He and Charlene are longtime residents of the Newton and Monroe areas. Bill was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton, and also farmed North of Monroe. He had devoted his life to his family, and enjoyed farming, antique John Deer tractors and the Chicago Bears Football. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and UAW Retirees Union.
Bill passed away at Careage of Newton on Wednesday afternoon, June 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters and brothers: Josephine Magonegil, Alice Newlin, Ernest Reischl, Raymond Reischl and Mary Kennedy.
Those left to honor Bill's memory include his wife Charlene of Newton; his sons: Bill Reischl, Jr. of Des Moines, IA and Terry Reischl of Newton; his daughters: Karen (James) Johns of Monroe and Judy Reischl of Newton; his three grandchildren: Deb, Darlene and James Dean; great-grandsons: Rick and Theron; several nieces and nephews; and his many good friends.
Calling hours will be Monday ; Visitation with the family will be 9:30 - 11am at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton with Father Bill Reynolds officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton on Monday.
