Obituary of Dale F. Ritter

Dale Francis Ritter, the son of Howard Delmar and Maurine Joyce (Otten) Ritter, was born September 17, 1954 in Grinnell, Iowa. Dale Graduated from the Monroe Senior High School with the class of 1972. On April 5, 1974, Dale was united in marriage with Ellen Irene McKinney in Newton, Iowa. Dale loved to farm and continued until his health would not allow him to continue. Dale was a member of the Newton Foursquare Church. He enjoyed archery and attending and participating in Renaissance Fairs. Dale died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 61 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard and a brother, David. Those left to honor Dale’s memory include his wife, Ellen Ritter of Newton, IA; his sons, Lee (Karen) Ritter of Grinnell, IA and Roy (Jennifer) Ritter of Newton, IA; his daughter, Amy (Curt) Jones of Baxter, IA; his eight grandchildren, Crystal, Dylan, Jordan, Amelia, Elizabeth, Curtis, Hannah, Logan; his mother, Joyce Ritter of Pella, IA; his brothers, Dean Ritter of Minneapolis, MN and Wayne (Nora) Ritter of Sully, IA; and his sister, Helen (Tim) O’Connor of Woodstock, IL. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Newton Foursquare Church or the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and may be left at the funeral home.
