Ron passed from this life on Saturday morning, August 27, 2016, at his home in Newton.
Ronald George Manley, 63, was born September 8, 1952, in Newton, the son of Donald Ernest and Colleen Marie (Harbour) Manley. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1970. Ron had grown up in the family business, (Lewis Greenhouse).
On September 23, 2000, Ron was united in marriage with Renee Pariseau in Newton. He was employed by the Maytag Company for twenty years, retiring in the Dryer Assembly Department. Ron enjoyed his family, and just sitting by the river, enjoyed fishing, all sports, especially basketball, football, the Iowa Hawkeye's, Green Bay Packers. He was a member and past member of the Izaak Walton League and South Skunk River Blues Society, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Ron is survived by his wife Renee; his children: Kara Manley (Shane Carstens), Gervaise Kendall (Larry), Lynnelle Bontty (Craig) and Brad Gregory; grandchildren: Chase, Jillian, Destiny, Gage, Lainy, Jack, Alek, Gavin, Oscar and Adelyn; sisters: Jayne McKeever (Mancil Laidig), Susan Manley (Randy Cooley) and Rebecca Farver (Tony); brothers in law: Richard Mackerman and Lyle Thurman; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael Manley; sisters: Nancy Mackerman and Kathy Thurman and Mary Manley; grandparents: George and Jennie Manley, and Ival Earl and Lillian Harbour.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Ron's name to the Maytag Park & Recreation or a charity of your choosing.
