Gale Lynn Harsha of Kellogg, passed from this life on Thursday morning, May 12, 2016, at Unity Point-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Gale, 79, was born July 11, 1936, in Baxter, the son of William Blaine and Dolly Edith (Munn) Harsha.
In 1955, Gale married Daenna Hurley-Harsha. To this union two children were born: Lisa and Mike. Over the years Gale was employed by Montgomery Wards and WinPower; he was an automobile sale person; and a Sales Representative for Del-Aire and Lage, livestock confinement suppliers. Gale was preceded in death by his wife Daenna in 1999. He was a fun and loving husband, father and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. On May 29, 2007, Gale was united in marriage to Mary Lee Bowen. Together they attended the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church in Newton. Gale was an airplane pilot, a past member of the Izaak Walton League and NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, playing cribbage, cards and was a handyman.
Gale is survived by his wife Mary Lee Harsha of Kellogg; his daughter Lisa Harsha of Newton; his son Mike Harsha of Newton; three brothers: Max Harsha of New Mexico, Bill (Marilyn) Harsha of Baxter and Mike (Carol) Harsha of Arkansas; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Daenna Hurley-Harsha; and a brother Jimmy Harsha.
A time of remembrance and funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, at Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services, and with a lunch and fellowship time following.
