Cynthia Main passed from this life on Friday morning, February 26, 2016, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Cynthia Sue Main, 62, was born April 16, 1953, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the daughter of Noble Kenneth and Carmen Sue (Bravard) Ezell. She attended and graduated from the Zearing Senior High, and received her Associate Nursing Degree from Des Moines Area Community College and BSN from Drake University. She lived in Mt. Vernon, IL; Zearing, IA; St. Charles and Des Moines, prior to moving to Newton. She was employed for 42 years by Mercy Medical Center and Iowa Heart in Des Moines. Cindy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed her job, reading and shopping.
Cindy is survived by her daughter Melissa Main; her son and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Tasha Main; her two grandchildren: Dylan and Denea Main; two sisters and two brothers: Kim Anderson, Allison (Kyle) Simmons, Andrew (Melissa) Ezell and Michael Ezell; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Stephen Ezell; and her grandparents.
A Time of Remembrance and visitation with Cindy’s family will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Cindy’s name with her family or a charity of your choosing.
