Obituary of Morris Dale Van Baale

Morris Van Baale, passed away Friday morning, March 6, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services for Morris will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to his family in Morris' wife's name. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery. Morris Dale Van Baale, 66, the son of Fred and Viola (Fleming) Van Baale, was born January 23, 1949, in Des Moines. He was a graduate of the Colfax High School, Class of 1967. Morris had served his country proudly with the US Army, during the Vietnam era. He was a very dedicated employee, as a production manager at Progress Industries in Newton, 34 years. On May 21, 1993, Morris was united in marriage with Patricia Joyce Stuart in Newton. He devoted his life to his family, and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, NASCAR, football, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and bowling. Morris was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to honor Morris' memory include his wife Pat; a daughter Amy Schilling; two step daughters: Lisa Glasford and Jill Rhoden; six grandsons, a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a brother Glen Van Baale of Colfax; and his many friends.
