Ashlee Ann Selders, the daughter of Gemanne Selders and Nedra Ann Carr, was born April 22, 2003 in Des Moines, Iowa. Ashlee was an accomplished student at Woodrow Wilson and enjoyed her studies. Ashlee was a member of 4-H, Camp Fire, and Grace Church. She enjoyed gymnastics, studying, animals and being awesome. Ashlee died on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was 11 years old. Those left to honor Ashlee’s memory include her mother and step father, Nedra Carr and Jacob Briggs; her father and step mother, Gemanne Selders and Jessica Williams; her two sisters, Arlene Briggs and Kaylynn Briggs; her three brothers, Dillan Briggs, Pearson Briggs and Jashawn Fleming; her grandparents, Ned (Cathy) Carr and Shirley Fuller; her many aunts and uncles who loved her dearly and lots of wonderful cousins. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Grace Church in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be designated in Ashlee’s name and may be left at the church or at the funeral home.
