James (Jim) Wiley Brock, 73 of Newton, IA passed away on Friday, December 5th 2014.
Jim was born in Mound Prairie Township, Jasper County to John and Dorothy Brock on July 12th 1941. He went to high school at Newton Senior High. He worked as a generator technician for Winpower for several years. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County, living mostly in Newton. He enjoyed storm chasing, fishing, gardening, garage sales, traveling with his daughter and trips to the casino with his granddaughter. Jim served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Jim is survived by his daughter Jodi Taylor (Matt McBeth) of Roland; his son Dusty Davies (Cortney) of Chariton; his sisters Betty Bell (Ernie) and Sue Pickett (Bud); his granddaughter Amanda Taylor (Nick) of Newton, and his great grandchildren – Gage, Gracie, Bella, and Heaven and his pet gerbils. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ira Raymond (Jack) Brock.
A private ceremony will be held for the family. Pence Reese Funeral Home in Newton, Iowa will be handling the funeral arrangements.
