Uncle Herman was the last member of my dad's family and my mother passed away in Sept. being the last in her family. My parents had many good times with Uncle Herm and Aunt Kay. They were host and hostess at my wedding. They were a special couple and he will be missed by many.
I will miss seeing Herman around. Seems he was always doing something. From working at Hy-Vee to maintaining a perfect yard and beautiful flower garden that would rival any.
Herman and Kay were always great neighbors. God Bless, Brett.
We remember Herman's smiles at church and HyVee. He was always a happy man, and God blessed him with a long life.
Thinking of you, and may you cherish the memories.
We wish to extend our sympathy to Aunt Kay, Don and Thresa and their family. We are in Arizona and unable to attend the services. We enjoyed the Tribute Video and have fond memories of Uncle Herm. May God give you peace as you continue to enjoy his memories.
Hi my name is Jim Kern and i worked with Herman at Gordon's Wholesale of Des Moines, Ia in the early 80's. Herman was the first Gordons' salesman to train me on how to sell candy and cigarettes to all the customers in central Iowa. That first week I worked with him I could not get over how all of his customers liked him. I truly saw what it was going to take to become successful in the business when I worked with Herman. The other thing I remember is how I had a heck of a time keeping up with him, he walked so fast with those long legs of his and I was so short he really gave me a work out. He was a great person and will never forget what he did for me on my first week. He taught me and made me feel like part of the team. Goodbye Old Freind
