Obituary of Ralph Dean Allspach

Ralph Dean Allspach, 80, passed away Sunday evening, October 23, 2011, at his home in Newton. A time of fellowship is planned for family and friends at the U.A.W. Hall Local #997, Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials in Ralph's name are being designated. Ralph, the son of Henry C. and Zeta (Stier) Allspach, was born January 19, 1931, in Marshall County, Iowa. Ralph farmed for many years, and was also employed by Maytag, retiring in 1989 after thirty plus years. He and Kate, worked for the Corp. of Engineers at Red Rock, for fifteen years. On April 30, 1949, Ralph was united in marriage with Kathryn Ann Klauenberg in Tama. He devoted his life to his family, and enjoyed camping, the outdoors and was a big Dolly Parton fan. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Donald, Marvin and Howard, and a sister Marjorie Vansice. Those left to honor Ralph's memory include his wife Kathryn; his children: Peggy Allspach of Newton, Byron (Bobbe) Allspach of Newton, Russell (Marilyn) Allspach of Baxter, Cindy (Bob) Swihart of Newton, Teresa Baarda of Baxter and Ruby (Lee) Olson of Holly Springs, MS; his brother Larry Allspach of Missouri; his ten grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren; and his many friends.
