Obituary of Rosalee Edwards

Rosalee Edwards, the daughter of Marion Perm and Pearl Irene (Birkenholtz) Ver Dught, was born September 3, 1943, in Newton, Iowa.  She attended Newton schools.

Rosalee married John William Buckroyd on March 21, 1964.  They moved to Cedar Rapids, where they had three daughters, Teresa, Tanya and Tabitha.  John died in 1978.

Rosalee worked at Iowa Telecom in Newton.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Rosalee died on August 3, 2023 at the home of her daughter in Marengo, Iowa.  She was 79 years old.  Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Buckroyd; her daughters, Teresa Irene Northcutt and Tabitha Ann Buckroyd; great grandchildren, John Loyd, Carter an Olivia; her brother, Marvin; and four sisters, Mary Ann, Karen, Lilly and Margret.

Those left to honor Rosalee’s memory include her daughters, Tanya Rae (Don) Bean; her son-in-law, Kelly Northcutt; her grandsons, Joseph White, Jacob Bean, and John White, Jr.; her granddaughters, Jasmine Marcelio, Sierra Durr, Veronica Buckroyd, Heather Handy, Clarissa Northcutt, Rosa Northcutt, Bonnie Loyds and Cheyenne Loyds; her twenty great grandchildren and her four great-great grandchildren; her brother, Donald Ver Dught; and her sister, Gail Poston

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral home in Newton.  Memorial may be designated in Rosalee’s name (Please make checks payable to Tanya Bean) and may be left at the funeral home.
