Obituary of Arthur Eldon Trotter

Arthur Eldon Trotter, 87, the son of Arthur Alton and Mildred Christine (Kern) Trotter; was born September 30, 1922 in Newton, Iowa. He attended Newton Schools, and served his country with the US Army during World War II. On July 13, 1950, Arthur was united in marriage with Dorothy Ann Allison in Montezuma, Iowa. Arthur was employed by the Parsons Company, and later by Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg, retiring in 1984. Arthur was a life member of the Newton V. F. W. Post #1655. He enjoyed yard work, hunting and gardening. Arthur died August 20, 2010, at the Newton Health Care. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter Sharon Day. There are no services planned at this time. Memorials in Arthur's name can be made to Hospice of Jasper County, and left at Pence-Reese Funeral Home, who have been entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Arthur's memory include his wife Dorothy; son Gerald (Linda) Trotter of Newton; daughter Theresa (Peter) Tagle of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Bob (Phyllis) Trotter of Newton; and many friends.
