Obituary of Ronald James Kelly

Ronald James Kelly, 59, the son of Oscar and Carol (Rone) Kelly, was born March 16, 1951, in Charles City, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Northwood, IA, High School, Class of 1969. He went on to attend the University of Iowa in Iowa City and the University of Louisville in Kentucky. While in high school, Ron participated in band, mixed chorus and wrestling. He served his country honorably in the US Army. Ron, a longtime resident of Newton, IA, loved life, and had devoted his time to his loved ones and friends. Ron died Tuesday morning, August 17, 2010, at his home in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Robert, Steven and Darrel. A Private Family service is being planned in Northwood. As an expression of sympathy, memorials in Ron's name are being designated. Those left to honor Ron's memory include his sisters: Hazel Claney, Ellen Montgomery, Debra Greene, Carol Kelly and Rebecca Parcher; his brothers: David Kelly and Oscar R. Kelly; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and his good friends. A Private Family service is being planned in Northwood. As an expression of sympathy, memorials in Ron's name are being designated.
