Jerome D. “Jerry” Reid, the son of Alexander Reid and Minnie Elizabeth (Nelson), was born June 30, 1941, in Camden, New Jersey. Jerry graduated from Williamson Trade school in Media PA in 1960.
On March 2, 1963, Jerry was united in marriage with Virginia M. “Ginny” Caldwell at the Yeadon-Blockley Baptist Church in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother and uncle whose love for his family was the steady center of his life.
Jerry enjoyed driving fast cars, boats, fishing and crabbing, taking the grandkids tubing, people watching and watching out for seagulls.
Over the years, Jerry served his country through the Selective Service with the U.S. Air Force, was a Mason, was proud to support the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Company #9 Auxiliary and he loved attending grandchildren’s activities. Jerry spent his entire professional career with Philadelphia Electric, where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Jerry died on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, surrounded by his children, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was 84 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ginny Reid; his brother, Al Reid; brothers-in-law James and Robert Caldwell; and his sisters-in-law, Kathi Reid and JoAnne Caldwell.
Those left to honor Jerry’s memory include his children: Sherry (Rich) Feehs of Lorton, VA; Dave (Carrie) Reid of Wilmington, NC; Cindy (Brian) Moyer of Dacula, GA; and Debby (Jeff) Pence of Newton, IA; his grandchildren: Joshua (Angie) Feehs, Caleb (Molly) Feehs, Maryn Feehs, Jordan (Sebastian) Hernandez, Jocelyn (Jack) Fleischer, Justin (Madi) Reid, Jayson (Jonnah) Reid, Joanna Reid, Nate (Taylor) Moyer, Abby Moyer, Leslie (Marshall) Pickering, Braden Pence, Isaac Pence, Sadie Pence, and Zachariah Pence; his great-grandchildren: Obie and Maribelle Feehs, Liam Hernandez, Reid Pickering, JJ Fleischer, Judah Reid and great-grandbaby Moyer due in March. Jerry is also survived by his sister in law Martha (Larry) Bazar, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives he touched with kindness, humor, and quiet strength.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
