Obituary of Mary Couper

Mary E. "Beth" Couper, 72, formerly of Newton,  passed away Jan. 11, 2025.  She was born Oct. 12, 1952 to James P. and Diana L. (Jones) Couper and graduated from Newton High School in 1971.

She worked at Maytag  for several years then served six years in the Navy as an Electronics Technician. 

She settled in Florida  as she was not a snow person, retiring as a corrections officer.   She was always a seeker of God's way, striving to walk the best path, giving of herself to those in need.

Those left to honor her are her sister, Nancy Couper, sister in law Shirley (Tom) Couper,  nieces,  nephews, cousins,  and special Florida friends SueAnn and Dakota. 

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Randy (Barb) Couper,  Tom Couper,  and nephew Christopher L. Jones.

A memorial gathering will be February 8 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Pence Reese Tribute Center.  Memorials to Lucy's  Pet Pantry or local ARL.
